クリッセル・リムさんのインスタグラム写真 - (クリッセル・リムInstagram)「It feels surreal typing this out and being able to see something I’ve had in my head for the past 4 years come to life. I created bümo out of necessity. After having Chloé, my first, I was forced to choose between working/ building my career or being a full time mom. I wanted to do both... why couldn’t I? So I tried. I tried working from home and completely failed (got nothing done. Wasn’t able to be present at either or). So I chose to put her in daycare at an early age. It was the only option in order for me to work. It felt cruel and just wrong to be separated with the human that I just birthed. The amount of guilt that poured over me everyday for choosing to put her in daycare over staying at home with her. But also the satisfaction I got out of work and being able to do me. But not only to do me...it was for the family. We have a dual household income so why should I feel guilty about that? But I did. I felt immensely guilty to the point where I would just cry in my car after drop offs. Not that daycare is bad (Chloé and colette both are still in daycare/ pre school and doing just fine) but I was frustrated with the lack of options out there. We live in the 21st century and there’s apps to walk your dog, deliver your food, find a commute, but barely any options when it comes to childcare. I soon realized that I was not the only one going thru this.It was nearly every parent who had to make that binary decision of work or family. So here we are 4 years in the head and 2 years in the making with my incredible co founder @joan.nguyen.tran (who has built an inc5000 education company).
