The relationship between man and animal is incredibly important, and this is particularly evident today. We have an extraordinary amount to learn from those we share the planet with. I’ve spent years working with these beautiful, sentient beings both in the wild, and also, as here, with habituated populations. I’m always humbled by their grace and the silence of their movement, and will never take for granted the enormous privilege of being in their presence. It’s not always like this, but when it is one can’t help feeling guilty for the actions of those who inflict pain on these gentle giants and see wildlife simply as a commodity.
