Odette, who is a veterinarian in Curaçao, rescued the bird after it crashed against a hotel window and ended up beside the swimming pool with an injured left wing and concussion. These and other injuries prevented his return to the wild. He now lives with his rescuer, who named him Bob and turned him into the bird ambassador of her conservation education charity @fdoccuracao.
