Karen Ip (@fruitypoppin) knows how it feels to pop off. The 19-year-old became a meme after one of her videos went up. “My mom called me for dinner and I shouted in Chinese, ‘I’m recording,’” says Karen. Now, the Toronto resident — who was born in Hong Kong — shares her love for makeup alongside fun takes on her Chinese roots, like videos where she does her chores using 🥢.⁣

She’s inspired by the #asianappreciation movement, where Asian North Americans and Canadians celebrate their cultural heritage. “Don’t be afraid of who you really are because people will love the true you no matter what,” says Karen.⁣
