This year, I’m making an effort to align myself with brands that are aware of their impact, which might mean a lot less sponsored content on here. These are all small changes, and I stumble a lot, but it’s imperative I continue to try. It’s not only the changes we make in our lives, but the efforts to constantly sustain them.⁣ ⁣ And it’s bottom-up (the changes I make) as much as it is top-down (the steps federal governments and big business need to take). I can’t say it any better than @spencer.r.scott wrote in his post, which I recommend giving a read (look for the purple sky).⁣ ⁣ This shot of Momo is a photo I think about often. It was taken in Portugal where the 2017 wildfires consumed forests, homes, and lives. I’m not blind to the fact that to take this photo I had to fly to Europe and drive a diesel camper to get there. I could counter argue that in this time I didn’t have to heat a home, and might have driven as much as someone who commutes daily. But this is where my head starts spinning. Am I doing enough? Am I part of the problem? Yes and yes. But I won’t wallow in it, and I’ll ground myself in the reality that so long as I continue to strive to be climate neutral, and to hold big business accountable for the impact they have, I’m on the desired path.
