Never thought I’d star in six TV series this decade. Never thought I’d create a show in which I played a DJ. Never thought saying yes to a smaller role in a show about the transgender ballroom scene would land me at the Emmys. Never thought I’d come to recognize myself more as a writer than an actor. Never thought that shift would lead to the kind of roles I’d wanted all along. Never thought I’d spend six months waiting for business affairs to close a writing deal and end up doing Dancing With The Stars. Never thought I’d love dancing the way I do. Or that I’d wind up sharing the hardest day of our lives with the world - and be grateful that I got to share it. Never thought I’d love an RV trip with five kiddos. Well... maybe that last one I could’ve predicted 😘 But as smart as I sometimes try to think I am... so much of what I’m grateful for about this decade has been the shit I never saw coming.
