I think it's more common than we think actually, and hopefully by talking about it, those of you who feel lonely know you aren't alone, and those of you who don't might think to check in more with friends. 🥰 I talk a lot about the joys of being single, because I know how long it took me to change my mindset. And I know how many people feel like a failure if they're single, or stay in the wrong relationships out of fear of being alone. I always really want to share my joys of being single to try and change the mindset of others, as I was able to eventually change my own. That said, I've also experienced times of extreme loneliness over the last couple of years, as a couple of my friends are now. It's hard to talk about the lonely side of things without it seeming like you're bitter or complaining. I'd love to know if you relate. ✨ I've lost track of the times friends have gone distant when they've got into relationships, I get that it's easy to get swept up, but remember that it's your friends who are there in tough times too. I even had a close male friend of 8 years ago totally dropped me when he found a girlfriend. The times when your friends drop you last minute and you end up alone, where you go for a few days without getting a text from anyone, where you're not invited to dinner parties because they're more of a couple thing and there'd be an odd number, or turning up to weddings alone and having to deal with constant questions about your love life. 🙄 I suppose I'd just like people to remember to make plans with your friends, and remember to text them and check in even when you're busy! ❤️ I've got to experience so many amazing things and travel the world with friends during my single years and I'm so grateful for all the lessons I've experienced.
