マリン&ゴッツさんのインスタグラム写真 - (マリン&ゴッツInstagram)「“While growing up in Michigan, my mother’s favorite time of the year was Christmas. She would wake my brother and I around 4:30 am, not able to restrain her excitement to open gifts, even though we would beg her to let us sleep. Of course, this all happened around our huge Christmas tree, which we would have ornately decorated as a family weeks before, while we devoured a coffee cake my mother had just baked for us. There was a lot of love. After I moved to NYC, I downsized my holiday celebrations. I worked in retail—a blackout period for time off. I lived in a small apartment without room for a tree, let alone the time or money to have one. After Andrew (who was raised in a Jewish family) and I moved in together, he was surprised and disappointed that I did not make a bigger deal of Christmas. Humbug. My mother passed away eleven years ago. It was around that time Andrew and I were able to afford a house of our own and the space to spread out. And, after many years, we were able to start our own tradition of cutting and decorating a tree, exchanging gifts, and having Christmas dinner together. I am warmly reminded of the joy Christmas represents. It is a day to focus on family, kindness and generosity—however that comes to you. Regardless of belief or ceremony, MALIN+GOETZ wishes you the happiest of holidays from our family to yours.” – @matthewmalin1967」12月25日 23時39分 - malinandgoetz
