ジジ・ハディッドさんのインスタグラム写真 - (ジジ・ハディッドInstagram)「Yesterday, at a Youth Center in Kolda, where we met with the Young Women’s Club who have recently completed a 12-day UNICEF supported Digital and Entrepreneurial Workshop where they learned video, website, podcast, and app making, and even how to build and program a robot!! Their presentations were based on themes they chose, of important messaging they have been discussing with the Youth Center, such as underaged-marriage and FGM. These girls were so inspiring ! & they want you to know that they are intelligent leaders, and just as competent as women from urban areas; they just want to be given the tools to succeed! They want to be doctors, lawyers, agriculture engineers, & journalists, (one girl even said she wants to work for UNICEF!!:)), and are inspiring more youth here to open often-taboo conversation topics to spread sensitization in their communities and families !! So grateful to them for sharing their stories and projects with us. As always, we ask permission of anyone whose photos we take and before our visits everyone present is made aware and asked if they’d like to take part. Also, my first question is always “What would you like us to tell the world about you?” to make sure the narrative is reflective of that.
