I wanted to love regardless of circumstances or conditions. However, I really really neglected what my heart & soul needed. I lost my confidence, I lost my drive, I was full of self-doubt/self-hatred & a bit of shame. I forget my worth cause I didn’t know what I deserved. I think it’s a challenge in relationship to value and KNOW what you need and how to communicate and grow and stay healthy. - ✨ With dating Cobus, that is one of the main things I’ve learned.. I’ve learned to speak up and to speak my mind. I learned that I can disagree and I can have my opinion and it not be a bomb in the relationship. I always thought I had to “keep the peace” at all costs. It challenges me, and pushes me.. to feel what I feel and always be honest. - So now 3 years later here’s the advice I would tell my younger self: 💥 Your feelings and thoughts are valid and you can SPEAK UP. You can say what you NEED, you can SET BOUNDARIES and what you expect, and you GET to set the tone for the type of relationship and love you want to have. You don’t need to stay “stuck” you don’t need to play the victim. You’re in complete control AT ALL TIMES. You’re enough and you deserve to be treated and loved well. ❤️ now that is a mantra and reminder I want to put out to all y’all cause life is hard and love is confusing. But by that metric it’s a good gauge to detect where you’re at and if you’re being honest with yourself. - - I’m just thankful that with time, patience, healing, therapy, forgiveness, good communication.. you can evolve and create something healthy and beautiful no matter how ‘damaged, broken, or hurt’ you were in the past. 👊 - My note for you is if you feel sad or like you don’t deserve something amazing, 1. You do. 2. Read the book “Choosing Me Before We” and your eyes will open at how freaking amazing YOU are. And you won’t want to put up with anything less. ❤️ I didn’t know I could do that with communication and by KNOWING what I want. Anyways sorry for the shpeel...
