Yingさんのインスタグラム写真 - (YingInstagram)「I took part in the Art Chip Award at the Tokyo Nail Expo 🤗 The theme was "Japanese tangerine colour - 蜜柑". The tips had to be submitted by mail and in the tip box provided (which also had to be mailed to me) so because I am in Singapore, it took longer for me to receive the entry details and submit my work by the deadline. My Europe trip (I was in Europe late October to early November) ended up clashing with the competition submission period... So I had to finish the tips before leaving for Europe. I had about ten days to do it before leaving for Europe and then when I came back, I had one more day to put the final touches on it before mailing it out. Unfortunately because I was overseas so much in October and November (Europe for 2 weeks, then back in Singapore for 2 weeks, then to Tokyo for 1 week), I had to squeeze all my customers into the period before Europe and before Tokyo. So I had to juggle working in the salon, the nail tips, plus training for my staff... it was really hard 😭 But I think it was a good experience and taught me a valuable lesson - that I should plan ahead properly next time and give myself more time to do a better job! I am happy also that I think I did a better job with these tips compared to my first time in July taking part in the same Art Chip Award in Asia Nail Festival in Osaka. 😊 Every time I look at other competitors' work, I am amazed and humbled by their creativity, effort and skill. Competing against such talent really helps me to grow as a nail artist and I think it is important to constantly challenge yourself in order to improve and avoid being stagnant or complacent.
