In this setting, no independent object or feature draws attention to itself – the parts are subsumed in the whole. Materially, the pile of uniform, 3mm thick aluminum boxes belies its own weight to appear closer to paper than metal. The two sources of illumination – backlit cove lights and ambient downlights – simultaneously produce clean, linear contrasts and vague, diffused gradients. Paradoxically the aggregated boxes dissolves into an ornamental backdrop, like the Japanese garden that frames an immaterial, but numinous void. The Yohji's bags fill this void to become the subject of the space. The perception of the haphazard arrangement, sharp and soft lighting, and ambiguous materiality alters with space and time, revealing the inherent tension of the bags by discord Yohji Yamamoto. 紙のように軽やかに積層されたアルミボックスは、日本庭園の石組みを引用し、配置・構成による1つの集合体として表現された。集合体は、存在感を持ちながら、石庭/石組のように静かで装飾的な背景となり、その前に「間（空白）」が生まれる。そこにdiscord Yohji Yamamotoのバッグが置かれ、空間の焦点となる。有機的な配置や、コントラストとグラデーションのある照明、曖昧な素材感 - 重いアルミ素材が、反するように軽やかに有機的に配置されているため不思議な存在感を放つ - は、訪れる時間や見る角度により、印象に変化を生む。変化のある空間は、優美なドレープを纏った服のように変化するバッグと呼応し、一方、山本耀司によるクリエイションのゆるぎない存在感や緊張感を露わにする。 Spatial Design/Architect Michael Sypkens OSO #discord #yohjiyamamoto #山本耀司」11月25日 13時58分
