I feel like I’ve been hit by a truck now, because I was! I was sitting at a red light waiting to turn right to merge in to traffic and someone (pretty obvious a distracted driver) drove right in to the back of my car. I had no idea what happened, didn’t even see it coming. I can’t describe the straight up TERROR I was experiencing worrying about the baby. The first trimester is delicate and I was hit so hard; shock and panic took over my body in fight or flight mode for quite a while. I don’t remember the last time I was that upset or scared. Xrays on my neck were clear and got a full workup on the baby in the ER and all is well. Pure relief and joy when I saw my little one dancing around on the ultrasound. A bit banged up from whiplash but big picture all is okay with both of us.
