AD| Maybe this is showing my ignorance, but until this summer I only knew of two Louvre Museums– the one in Paris & the new one in Abu Dhabi. It turns out there’s also a Louvre Museum nestled away in Lens in the north of France. Like the Abu Dhabi Louvre, this one is architecturally very different to the Paris one, in fact it was designed to almost be invisible (if you swipe to the second picture you’ll see what I mean). It was designed by SANAA in collaboration with landscape architect Catherine Mosbach so the grounds outside the museum are equally as impressive at the artefacts inside. Also on a sidenote, there is a restaurant nearby in Hotel Louvre Lens and I had one the best desserts I’ve ever had there- a candy rhubarb and chocolate mousse thing.
