INGO MAURER / インゴ・マウラー ( ドイツの照明デザイナー ) が天国に旅立った。

25年前、ワンダーウォールの前身であるH. Design Associates.を設立した直後だった僕たちは、ミラノサローネを訪れた。海外で自分たちを売り込むす方法もわからないまま現地入り会場に行ったところ、INGO MAURERのブースに本人がいることに気が付いた。そして、全く無名だった僕達のデザインを見て欲しいと、無謀にも本人に声を掛けたのだ。彼は「 時間はそんなにとれないけど良いよ 」と奥の部屋に通してくれ、‪1時‬間にわたって親身にアドバイスをしてくれたのだ。今でもあの夢の様な時間は忘れない。

彼のワークはデザインの可能性を拡張させ、その楽しさを僕達に教えてくれた。心から御冥福を申し上げます。

INGO MAURER (German lighting designer) has passed away.

We visited Milan Salone 25 years ago, just after founding H. Design Associates（the predecessor of Wonderwall）. I went to the venue without knowing how to promote
ourselves overseas and realized that INGO MAURER himself was in his booth. Then, we recklessly asked him to see our design. At that time we were completely unknown. He said “I don't have much time but I will,” and passed us through to the back room. He was kind enough to give us advice for an hour. I still remember that dreamy time.
His work expanded the possibilities of design and taught us the joy of design.
I sincerely thank you, Mr. Mauer. May your soul rest in peace.
