Red Snapper Assis [~8C] is one particularly sick project 😳 The first time I climbed on this boulder was in 2001 when the legendary locals Michi and Ivan Tresch were developing the entire zone ✨ I couldn’t do any of the moves really and had no clue what what kind of solutions were required to do the moves at the time 🤯 Nearly 20 years later I was astonished to see the kind of freak beta I conjured up in a couple sessions 😂🤪 In lieu of doing some savage frontal power moves which didn’t seem very feasible, I crafted some modern knee-bars to fill in the blanks and they damn near took me to the top on the few cold days I had to try it 😫 After two very powerful moves revolving around an amazing mini-pinch you gain compression on the prow, lean into one very position-oriented knee-scum and do three “ghost” hand moves until you can release the body, balance through two terrible smears, then perform a crux foot stab far to access a final knee-bar FTW 😳 I had a few tries where I came super close to sticking the foot, but alas this one will have to wait until next round 😭 Super syked to return to Sustenpass as soon as I can and finish this one off 🤓 @adidasterrex @fiveten_official @petzl_official @climb_up_officiel @frictionlabs @sendclimbing @climbskinspain
