Just like birds that fly south for the winter, the monarchs are on the move.
To give the butterflies a swanky hotel stay on their journey, @smithsoniangardens has created a certified Monarch Waystation outside the @hirshhorn's sculpture garden. From late summer to early fall, monarchs travel more than 3,000 miles (50 to 100 miles a day!) to their winter homes in Mexico and southern California.
Our all-inclusive resort offers them sun, rest, and food options from host plants and nectar plants, especially important on a route that passes through urban areas that don't have the species that they used to. #SGHabitat
