There’s something haunting, yet romantic about a #shipwreck. This boat here is the William P Rend, a bulk freighter that sank in #ThunderBay in 1917. It took on substantial damage in 1902 after colliding with a steam ship, sinking in shallow water. It was recovered, repaired and put back into service and was finally laid to rest in these waters in 1917. The boat is one of many near Alpena Michigan, a port town on Lake Huron that was at one time one of the largest cities in the state.
