Steve, it's hard to believe but we have been friends for 49 years, best friends. You would come to NY and we would eat "bickies" and have strong cups of tea, your favorite, and Elizabeth would order better lunches just for you because everyone adores you. Years ago I asked you to do my first book and we spent hours with the pictures stuck to the wall of my apartment arguing over double versus single pages - you hated double pages but you came around! We had that first book party at the pastry store next to the Louvre and served ice cream and cake while we both signed copies over to all our many friends. You helped me with most of my books even though you would rather just be playing your guitars or taking pictures of girls with your camera. Marianne learned from you, I learned from you, my books are better because of you. When you couldn't come to NY anymore we would talk on the phone, it made me happy - I called you all last week, but you didn't answer. The new book is dedicated to you. You were and are my best friend. I'll always remember you with a camera, a guitar, and a girl. I love you Steve. 🧡📸 @stevehiettphotography
