Lyndon Baines Johnson, the 36th President of the United States was born 111 years ago this week on August 28, 1908. He became President following the tragic assassination of JFK and would go on to serve and additional term (in office 1963-1969). The Democrat from Texas also served as a United States Representative and the Majority leader in the US Senate prior to becoming Vice President to JFK.
