Found in the Eastern Pacific Ocean, the striped kelpfish is most often found in rocky inshore areas where it can blend in with surrounding seaweed and algae. The protection of this habitat provides allows for the kelpfish to safely feed on small crustaceans such as amphipods (shrimp-like creatures), and crabs. In order for all of these species to thrive and continue supporting one another, our waterways must remain healthy. We can play a role in keeping trash and plastic debris out of these vital habitats by opting for reusable alternatives over single-use plastic items whenever possible.
