So when @shootmickshoot decided he wanted to hike up a shadeless African hill in the middle of summer to snap some snaps, I quickly forgot about my heat aversion and agreed. And then promptly melted, along with @mikela_sinovich, whose shoe broke midway through the thorn hike, and who I feared might never want to climb outside again, but instead became a loyal and fun climbing partner in South Africa.
