"Hi, I am Daksh Arora and I am one of the Our Climate fellows in New York State. Growing up in India, I got many opportunities to work with rural communities in a quest to improve access to drinking water and curbing indoor air pollution. These vulnerable communities and many such in the United States are the first victims of the climate crisis. It amazes me how easily these front-line communities are forgotten in the name of capitalism and economic growth. We can not let big fossil fuel companies get around weak regulations and exploit our planet anymore. It’s our generation who must take the baton and fight this battle of the climate crisis, advocate for better policies which will not only create a cleaner world but also endless job opportunities. I recently had a meeting with the NY state senator to have a dialogue regarding his stances on climate-change related policies. Working as a fellow, I have realized grassroots actions are so important and change starts from there. I hope after our conversation, the senator might think a little differently about the upcoming bill on the floor (CCIA) which plans to tax greenhouse emissions."」8月26日 23時53分
