Meet the island of New Guinea’s best kept secret - the New Guinea singing dog! Residing deep within the island’s wet cloud forest, this species is well suited for life in a hard-to-navigate terrain, with an extremely flexible spine and joints that allow the dogs to jump like a cat and hunt in steep areas with ease. Fossil records for the New Guinea singing dog date back at least 6,000 years, but due to inbreeding and breeding with domestic dogs, it is believed that very few singing dogs remain in the wild.
