1ST CAMO HISTORY
The original camouflage series of BAPE®︎ was born in 1996.
BAPE®︎ has over 100 variations of original camouflage apparel, among which the 1ST CAMO series was launched in commemoration of the first-ever CAMO series of BAPE®︎. The idea of using the “hunting camouflage” colors originated in the U.S. as a base pattern and placing the BAPE®︎ APE HEAD over it attests to the revolutionary and inventive nature of BAPE®︎ design.
In the 1ST CAMO series, BAPE®︎ had introduced two original colors; yellow and green. Numerous iconic artists, musicians, and actors all over the world started to wear BAPE®︎ CAMO. The close tie between BAPE®︎ and the creative class quickly cemented the status of BAPE®︎ as a fashion brand.
Despite the many color variations that exist today, the appeal of the original colors has not faded, and they remain just as popular after 20 years since their introduction. #bape
