We began the second half of shooting for my short film, Let’s Go See the Nuclear Reactor.
Making a film is exactly what I want to do and I am in the midst of the production here, yet mostly what I’m doing on location is to send instructions for finishing my paintings nearing deadlines and managing the cash flow of my company on my iPhone, barely focusing on the film. Of course, Daisuke Kobayashi @dadadaisuke is doing the actual directing of the film and everything is taken care of. Even though I don’t have much say in the filming, the time I can immerse myself in the atmosphere surrounding the film production is precious to me; even if I’m only partly involved, I thoroughly enjoy being there and feel happy from the bottom of my heart.
I get so excited peeking at the at the moving image the director has filmed on the small monitor from afar. I genuinely want to continue working on creating moving image works. 「原発を見に行くよ」の短編映像。後半戦の撮影、始まりました。
映像作品が作りたくて、そのプロジェクトの真っ只中にいるのに、撮影現場で、僕のやってることと言えば、絵画作品の締め切り前の指示出しやら、会社の経営の資金繰りをiPhoneでやっていて、映像製作に集中出来ません。まぁ現場の実際の監督は小林大祐さん @dadadaisuke がやっておられるわけなんだけれども、僕が手足が出せない撮影現場であっても、撮影中の空気に浸れる時間は貴重だし、中途半端な参加でも、心の底から楽しく幸福な気持ちが湧き上がってます。
監督が撮った映像をチェックする小型モニターを後ろの方から覗かせてもらって、ワクワクドキドキ。
映像作品制作は、本当にやり続けたい創作活動だなぁ、と、しみじみ感じてます。
