amlynch7 @delta My husband and I booked a direct trip to Tokyo last March, paid for an upgrade to Delta Comfort seats, went on the app today and found out the plane was switched and we were downgraded to main cabin and not sitting together. Our flight is in 5 days. We received no notification from Delta whatsoever of this change and would have been completely blindsided for our flight in 5 days if we didn’t check our seats today. Called Delta’s customer service and the guy said they’ll refund the money and try to get us main cabin seats together but we were one of the “unlucky ones” that got downgraded (after PAYING for an upgrade). He said it’s the best he could do, seems like it’s the very MINIMUM he could do. Very disappointed to learn that Delta will downgrade paying Delta Comfort passengers and: 1) do not notify any of these passengers, 2) do not refund the money unless you notice the downgrade, 3) do nothing else to rectify the situation (try and move you back to delta comfort, give miles, anything in addition). Been a loyal Delta customer for 15 years but will avoid using them now, especially for 15 hour international flights.

rnvalencia @delta this has been the worst travel experience ever. Why do I need I keep wrong information from your customer service? I’ve been passed back and forth and was on hold for an hour.
