Gyokushin-in, or Tamagawa-Daishi Temple as its known locally, is just a 10 min walk from Futako-Tamagawa Station.
The hidden, underground tunnels were added beneath the temple as a sacred site for those who wanted to make a spiritual pilgrimage but were unable to go as far as Shikoku. If you walk the entire loop of the tunnels, it’s said to bring the same effect as if you made a pilgrimage to Shikoku’s 88 sacred places and the 33 places of the Kansai Kanon Pilgrimage.
In this one of a kind site, you will walk along the walls in complete darkness to find 300 different Buddhas along the way.

玉川大師の名前で親しまれている寶泉山玉真院は二子玉川駅から徒歩10分。
創建後に作られたこちらの地下霊場は、四国への巡礼に行けない方のために作られました。ここの地下霊場を一周すると四国八十八ケ所、西国三十三ヶ所を巡礼したのと同じご利益があるそうです。
真っ暗闇の中を壁づたいに進み、その先の300体の仏像に出会うお遍路はここでしかできない体験です。
