It’s easy to understand why Zion National Park’s slot canyon system is called “The Subway”. Full of twisted tunnels that are all interconnected it can be navigated to take you across vast distances in an efficient manner. Today, this is the same system exists in almost every major city in the world. The only difference is that in this case, nature beat us by about 150 million years. It's a reminder we still have a lot to learn from the planet and its natural processes.
