No makeup, no filter, just me 💁🏼‍♀️
I’m turning 27 in a couple of weeks and I feel like I’ve only just managed to sort out my skin! Everybody tells you that when you become an adult your skin fixes itself ... spoiler: it doesn’t. You can be fighting acne in your twenties and beyond 🥵 I still have a lot of little scars and pigmentation left but overall my skin has never been this clear so I thought I would share the game changers in my life:
➡️ Sleeping on my back. After my bowel surgery I had to sleep face up, and this completely eradicated the little under the skin bumps I got on my cheeks. If I ever slip back into old habits and sleep with my face on my pillow (no matter if it’s freshly washed), I will immediately get little under the skin bumps again 🙅🏼‍♀️
➡️ Diet. Eating a plant based diet has completely transformed my skin. It mainly seems to be dairy which causes my skin grief. If I ever slip up and have some it always shows on my face the next day, without fail 🐮 Plus eating tonnes of colourful plants literally makes my skin glow, when I eat a bland/beige diet I feel like my skin looks sallow 😣
➡️ Hydration. Water water water, you know this! 💦
➡️ Managing sweat. I try to train without makeup on, and whether I am wearing it or not I always cleanse immediately afterwards. No sitting with sweat on my skin 🤢
➡️ Facials once every few months, I go to @pfeffersal and request an extraction so they get any gunk out my face. Painful but satisfying 😝
➡️ Good simple daily skincare. I used to be constantly switching up my products on my face which I think just confused and overwhelmed my skin. faydutdut You look fabulous without makeup! I have found that my skin breakouts are mostly related to what I eat. I don’t eat dairy or gluten or anything like that, ever (think paleo minus eggs, beef and pork). I really only get breakouts on my chin and under my nose from nuts, seeds and too many raw tomatoes. I don’t wear make up very often (a few times a year). I sleep on my side and stomach and I have a very simple face routine using pretty natural products.

lizzieatworld I had a convo with friends about skin care a while back and couldn’t believe the amount of products they use...night cream, eye cream, daily moisturiser. I use an apricot scrub in the shower, and lush moisturiser and don’t wear foundation. Easy for me to say though as I’ve always had clear skin. Alcohol ruins my complexion more than anything else.

melissa042807 My skincare “secret” is consistency, consistency, consistency. I’m turning 36 tomorrow and I don’t look it, which might sound arrogant but it’s what I’ve been told. Cleanse and moisturize morning and night, every day. Eye creme. Regular exfoliation. Sun protection every day. We only get one skin, we need to take good care of it.

claire_h83 I also had to learn to sleep on back after being in a cast after a broken ankle (previously was a front sleeper).I’ve kept it up as I noticed no breakouts but also waking up with less of a puffy face. I’ve heard it’s meant to help with wrinkles... but will have to wait and see with that one :)

joelyjwilliams I’m 25 and have always had rubbish skin no matter what I tried so recently went to the GP as I was feeling so down about it to be told I have an infection in my skin. 1 month of antibiotics so far and I feel like I have new skin and so happy. If in doubt, go see your GP guys. ☺️💕

crisstrikesback To be honest I think you can help with all the tricks and beauty products but in my opinion it’s all about genetics, like 85% 🙈 It is great to know what other people do for their skin! Thanks for sharing 😉
