@m0ray_gault09 if you want to go a bit more in depth then I'm all for it, swimming is the hardest of the major sports to learn, FACT, reason for this is because, well, humans aren't exactly designed to be in water so the movements that your body makes are unusual to what it expects, that is why they try and teach swimming at younger ages, and as you get older it becomes more and more difficult to learn and once you past about 18-20years and often younger (if you have never swum before) it is near impossible to be able to swim comfortably for long durations. Now before you begin to rage even more, I am not saying that it is easy to learn moves in gymnastics because they are extremely difficult and I cant exaclty do them but if you were to get, lets say a 20 year old who has never done gymnastics before, it would be much much much easier to teach them gymnastics then swimming, just saying.

I’m a swimmer. Training can be hell. It requires both a large aerobic and anaerobic capacity. Training 9 sessions in the pool up to 50km per week. 3 gym sessions per week focusing on strength, muscular endurance and power. Regular physio treatments and yoga to improve muscular stiffness and prevent injury. It is also very technical as you are always fighting the battle of propulsion vs water resistance. The sport is so cutthroat to compete at the highest level needing to be within the top two in the country. I now other sports such as Gymnastics are also very difficult and I would probably be hopeless at them compared to my swimming. I guess everyone is biased towards the sports that they do.

@_lewis_white__ gymnasts can swam yes but can they swim well? Do they have the aerobic capacity to swim 50-60km per week (30-37miles) I can safely say I would be hopeless at gymnastics as I am as flexible as a broomstick. The thing is that they are both difficult in their individual ways.

@m0ray_gault09 you also have to learn the start, underwaters, open turns, flip turns, tempo, and you can switch strokes in a race like the 2 IM and 4 IM as long as having two 2 and a half hour practices and 1 and a half hour weight sessions

@m0ray_gault09 you say 5-6 day's a week? When you do competitive swimming you really have to train 6-7 day's a week 3-4 hours in the morning and 2,5- 3 hours in the afternoon. And you have to eat a lot (which is tiring)😂

@alexarulf idiot its the same thing in swimming, you have to train as hard and even harder than a gymnast to become an olympic level swimmer. think about michael phelps he swam 30km per day for every day of the year
