@jaspah_li McLaren practically invented modern racing aero in the 80s. The Senna is probably not as fast, overall, but it's better value for money, from an older car. Comparing them is like comparing the 720s the the Aventador SV, the McLaren won't come out on top overall, but that the comparison is even made shows how incredible a car the McLaren is. McLaren have 60 years of racing as one of the most successful teams in every series they've entered behind them, Aston Martin don't. Yes, they've never made a multi-million dollar megacar like the Valkyrie, and yes, the Valkyrie is an incredible car. But McLaren have never failed to amaze us, and they certainly won't now. The Senna was for al

@jaspah_li *Slightly less rambling version* The Senna is still best in class, for hardcore supercars in the $1,000,000 range (against things like the SVJ. If the Senna is close enough to the Valkyrie even to be compared, given it's just over a quarter of the price and years older, then McLaren's megacar, which will cost about 2.5 million, and come out in the 2020s, will almost certainly be better. Valkyrie is still a seriously cool car though.

@fridolinhellmig Hmmmm... I think the senna might still have the advantage around very twisty circuits (variable aero) and around very long circuits (once the Valkyrie depletes it's battery it's in trouble) The Senna is also $2,000,000 cheaper though, and three years older. Don't think the Valkyrie will stand a chance against the Gordon Murray T50 or the McLaren P2

@kylrrrrrrr Hmmmm... Still a 1.4 mil car, less than half the price. Also since it's a variant and not a model in itself it loses some potential performance. Exceptional piece of engineering, but for something to compare the Valkyrie to, we have to wait for a proper McLaren megacar. And it will probably crush the Aston

@louismuir29 From your comment I assume that unlike, for instance, the Agera RS, this car is less about straight-line speed and more track-focused. But with the car being so close to being delivered to customers, hopefully we'll see some track records to back that "fastest street-legal car" claim up.

@bordering_on_human The Valkyrie is a downforce based vehicle, designed by Adrian Newey, the downforce god himself and powered by a V12 Cosworth engine, the Senna wouldn’t stand a chance, and I doubt whatever road legal car McLaren can throw at it will either.
