There are nearly 4,000 strip clubs in the U.S. Last year, they brought in $7 billion in revenue. But in many places, the price of a lap dance has remained essentially unchanged since 1990, despite inflation. “If you ask the customer to pay more than $20, they’ll look at you like you have two heads,” said Zara Moon, a stripper and artist in Los Angeles. In response to issues like this, dancers and their allies across the nation are fighting to reform labor practices; put an end to sexual harassment and discrimination in the workplace; and reduce the stigma around what they believe is as legitimate a profession as any. Everyone saying this is degrading are funny, I like how they alone are the moral arbiter and get to decide the nature of this experience for everyone else. This doesn’t have to be degrading. Many men are respectful, I’ve been treated way better as a dancer and made way more money than when I worked ANY service industry profession. If you are making a statement about how this job is bad for women, you’re outing yourself as someone who doesn’t know what they’re talking about, and who clearly needs to actually talk to some dancers instead of being so condescending and a huge part of the problem

We will judge honey, oh yes we will judge! I clean toilets for a living! I have a college degree but due to a handicap after serving in the military it is hard to get a job. I make $16 an hour so I will judge your job choice! Stop having strip clubs and you stop some of the entitlements of men. $20 bucks for what? To grind on them and give them a peep show? Can you still as that when you my age...you'll want your respectability when your 50! People are judgemental and unkind to janitors and housekeepers and we are cleaning up the germs and diseases not spreading them!

Insane.... The resourceful of the bunch bring in more than $1000.00 a night...Im sure that they cant wait for Zara Moon (interesting stage name) to help usher in government regulation to a business that is likely bringing in more like $20 billion. Considering that much of the dancer revenue goes unaccounted...be careful what you wish for. #dumb

What you don’t mention is the practice of the clubs charging dancers upwards of $150-$200 fee to perform nightly in the club. Dancers have to perform upwards of 10 dances to then be able to earn a living. Meanwhile, these clubs charge patrons cover charges and high drink prices and make huge profits. These women have no health care or benefits.

Seriously, your country has way bigger issues to deal with than this one. Stop the bombings and war crimes, get the guns off the streets, end the racism and poverty, stop incarcerating people for petty crimes and elect yourselves a real leader.✌️❤️
