We’re dazzled by our latest #SothebysOutofOffice post, which is brought to you by our jewellery specialist @benoit.repellin from Monaco’s seafront 💎

Benoit shows us around some of the magnificent tiaras from the exhibition ‘Chaumet en Majesté’ at the @GrimaldiForum, which runs until August 28. The first piece is an #emerald and #diamond tiara ordered by Prince Guido Henckel von Donnersmarck for his wife, Katarina. Set with a group of drop-shaped emeralds, this superb jewel is one of the first jewels Benoit handled at Sotheby’s! Pictured here:
- An Art Deco hair ornament made in 1935, with main elements which can be detached and worn as a necklace.
- An Art Deco tiara set at the centre with a 45 carat drop shaped emerald, ordered in 1926 by the Grand Duchess Charlotte of Luxembourg.
- A delicate 1934 tiara owned by Marie Dow, Baroness Emile de Cartier de Marchienne. A couple of years later, Marie Dow left the tiara with Cartier, who offered it to Edwina Mountbatten for the upcoming coronation of King George VI in 1937. This piece was also worn by Mountbatten for the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II in 1953.
