lifeisagiftliveit I think that it is difficult these days to know who or what to believe. I read that no child was left unaccounted for, none slept at the schools, the schools were contacted as the raid began so that they could prepare a plan for these specific students until a formal plan came from each family. Each person arrested was given time and a phone to arrange for care for their children until they could get processed and given further instructions on what is to come. Others who could not obtain care in their absence were let go with a forthcoming court date. According to most sources it was all handled with great attention to lessen the impact on these children. Other outlets choose to sensationalize matters. Again, hard to know who to believe as we no longer live in a world where reports are thoroughly researched, everyone just rushes to get the story out first with the most gripping headline - regardless of whether all facts have been checked and cleared as accurate. BTW: my findings are from reading both liberal and conservative articles on the matter.

nkedge.designs @johnny_two_giraffes illegal immigrants are hiding from ICE and border patrol because they know that they’re illegal guests in a country that isn’t their own. They climbed fences and hid in truck beds to enter a country that they could’ve at least gained entry to in a legal manner, but no. Your comparison of what they’re doing now to innocent Jews in the 1930’s is absolutely ridiculous emotional baiting, and you dropped the fact that the entire reason that Jews were in hiding was because the govt was trying to kill its own citizens for practicing their own religion. To simplify my argument, the Jews did nothing wrong, broke no laws and were persecuted simply on the basis that they were Jewish, which is a far cry from people breaching our countries borders and attempting to remain in the country illegally. Try logic maybe instead of playing with emotions. It never really goes anywhere but downhill from there as far as your credibility goes.

johnny_two_giraffes @jldub77 it’s interesting that you people always run back to mamma when your own arguments on the subject at hand are shown not to hold water — “BUT ABORTION.” lol “but abortion” *what*? Again, shout your love for a dot of cells all you want, be my guest, it’s a free country — but be a pal and maybe care a little about, err, living people too? Living people who are in worse conditions than our ancestors when they came here ... and were let in? But are not allowed in because we radically changed the rules once it wasn’t white people coming in any more? Whipped cream on top: the ridiculous failed American “war on drugs” has a lot to do with why the conditions in the northern triangle are so bad, so yeah: let’s turn their lives upside down, then let’s not let them in, then when they sneak in anyway let’s take their little kids away from them. Now THATS common sense. 🙄

ridermoon16 The children should not have been left stranded. Period. That being said....i honestly dont understand why people cant see that if you come here illegally, its against the law!! Yes we were all immigrants at one time. But my Grandmother sailed to NYC on a ship from Italy when she was 17yrs old. With only her older brother & his wife. When they got to Ellis Island, she was quaranteened for 3 weeks due to an eye infection. Her brother had to keep travelling on to another state. She knew no one, didnt speak English and couldve been sent back if the infection didnt clear. She stuck it out, came here legally and became a citizen. The voyage was so awful that she never wanted to travel back for even a visit on a plane. Im proud of her. If you want to come here and not get kicked out, knock on the front door and do it the right way. It really is that simple

johnny_two_giraffes @nkedge.designs The Jews had indeed broken laws by not turning themselves over. They were hiding which was against the law in Germany at that time. Sound familiar? People who say “you are sensationalizing this” want the destruction of families swept under the rug so their trumpist policies won’t be examined closely. But that’s not going to happen. By the way you argue this is so different from the Nazi laws, but listen to this: “Terrible things are happening outside ... poor helpless people are being dragged out of their homes. Families are torn apart; men women and children are separated. Children come home from school to find that their parents have disappeared.” That’s from Anne Frank’s diary, January 13, 1943, but it sounds so much like America 2019 that you literally can’t tell the difference. But you’re saying it’s being “sensationalized.”

jldub77 @johnny_two_giraffes they aren't all kept out we take in plenty on a regular basis done through LEGAL immigration. If they do it right they can come in and bring their children and all be together and actually pay taxes and be a productive part of society instead of coming here and leaching off the system. If you think free and open borders is right then you take a stand and post your address on here and leave your doors unlocked cause remember there is nothing to be afraid of and if they can rightfully walk up in our country illegally then I guess it doesn't matter if we all just stroll right in your front door and use up all your resources illegally cause if we can't protect our borders why should we need to protect our homes smh. Good grief, common sense is in extremely short supply nowadays!
