🖼 Dans ce tableau, Pietro Longhi (1702 - 1785) nous introduit dans un intérieur particulièrement élégant. Au premier plan, un jeune seigneur donne le bras à une femme. Elle esquisse une révérence devant une femme élégante qui tient son éventail fermé contre son menton. Derrière elle, deux jeunes garçons et à sa droite, une jeune femme déploie sa large robe.

🔎 Le jeune homme du premier plan porte un habit brodé de fils d’or en un motif herbacé. Un jabot, des bas de soie et un tricorne complètent l'ensemble. Les deux garçons portent les habits à la mode tels que ceux du jeune homme.

👗 Une des jeunes femmes est vêtue d’une robe noire et coiffée d’un bonnet à fleurs et à brides. L’autre porte une large robe rose bordée de perles. Les formes que prennent leurs robes laissent deviner qu’elles portent des paniers à coudes en dessous. La femme à l'éventail porte quant à elle une robe brodée de fleurs au tombé délicat. La richesse de ses bijoux nous révèle qu’elle est la maîtresse de maison.

👗 One of the young women is dressed in a black dress and wearing a floral and flanged hat. The other wears a large pink dress lined with pearls. The shapes of their dresses suggest that they wear a pannier underneath. The woman with the fan wears a dress embroidered with flowers with a delicate fall. The richness of her jewellery reveals that she is the mistress of the house.
