I had such a positive morning with the Government Equalities Office discussing the causes of low body satisfaction and what the Government could be doing to challenge this.
We discussed many things including my experiences at school, trolling, reality TV, the type of adverts shown during these shows and the need for diversity, banning ads for cosmetic surgery and diet products - especially on Instagram, mysogony in the media and the impact that has on both celebrities and its readers, and the importance of ensuring we're using female photographers and creators so we see our bodies through our own gaze. I also brought up a lot of the points you guys put forward like having to declare when images are photoshopped, so I'm really grateful for all your suggestions, especially because I'm aware I live in a bit of a bubble in this industry. I'm going to continue working with them and I'm really excited about this opportunity. Keep sending your suggestions over. 🥰

@ashleylouisejames What....? Are you for real?! You are part of the problem! You don’t live in the real world. You haven’t got a clue. If you’re not away every weekend, it’s every other weekend. You’ve already had more holidays in the last 12 months than I have had in 40 years. You have pets that you claim to love, but you see them less than more. If you’re not out most evenings to some free event, you’re out of the country on holiday! As for appearance, you really, really haven’t a clue about weight, looks, confidence. You’re a total fraud when you claim you know how it feels. Sorry, but you talk utter bullshit. Just put your hands up and be honest, instead of being fake “for the people”. You’re like a bloody politician! It has fuck all to do with what the government can do. It’s people like you on social media that need to look at themselves and the impact they have on the general public. How many girls commit suicide because they know they will never be anything like you or be able to lead a life anything like yours and other fakes on social media?!

I’m an ambassador for B-eat. Having overcome anorexia at 32kgs , I now have 2 children through natural and ivf conception. I’ve come to learn that we are all wired a little differently, it’s not one size fits all it mentality and shape. We need to just be more mindful, but also not be a slave to being mindful. We shouldn’t be afraid of having an opinion. You rock and your positivity and honesty is refreshing

All for feeling good in your own body , however the negative impacts of obesity cannot be ignored for this. Obesity is a serious problem and cannot be promoted just so people can feel good. Banning diet ads would cause more promotion for obesity and more unhealthy people. I'm a fat bastard and know that being fat is more likely now to kill me than smoking is.

Also not to forget the huge sums of money spent by cosmetic giants giving huge complex to people specially girls. Also you would be surprised to know that in India, a face cream called Men's Fair 'n' Lovely is sold more than girls ! 😛
