I want to live in a society where mental health is considered as important as physical health, and initiatives like #HeadsUp are a great way of achieving that.
I hope everyone takes time to think about those close to them who have suffered in silence, and let’s try and find a way of making the conversation around mental health more open and honest. It’s the only way we will move forward. 🔵 @マンチェスター・シティFC Manager Pep Guardiola
Mental ill health is an illness that doesn’t discriminate. It affects all ages, all genders, all backgrounds, all incomes and wealths, all nationalities.
If this game helps more people realise that it’s something any one of us could suffer that’s good - because people should not feel embarrassed about illness. 🔴 @リヴァプールFC Manager Jürgen Klopp
Heads Up – launched by The Football Association and @heads_together, and spearheaded by The Duke of Cambridge – will harness the influence and popularity of football to help show the nation that we all have mental health, and it is just as important as physical health.
Thank you Pep and Jürgen 🙌 Manchester City and Liverpool, for your support.

Well done and the work that is being done by The Duke of Cambridge on leading this is tremendous and can really make a difference not only in raising the awareness of mental health and reducing the stigma especially amongst men, but but also giving practical help, advice and support. But as Esse writes above there really needs to be practical support from the Government and NHS, in terms of service provision and as The Dutchess of Cambridge often points out in her work on Mental Health, early intervention is the key. I was talking with someone the other day who was very frustrated as in Northumberland there was not the support for their condition, which is at the early stage, it seems that they wait until the condition gets serious before intervention. But then of course the damage is done

Very true Mam.......it's a need to understand what goes in the minds of those who suffer from depression and stress.......actually a depressed person is like a person suffering from Asthma......who can't breathe properly and people keep saying....."Hey why can't you breathe there is lot of fresh air outside."
They simply need a healthy conversation as who knows a simple pat on someone's back can change their lives.......
By the way Kudos to you for being real n rare the way 'Royal' people should be 😊👍

OK, so I can't afford to go to a resort to de-stress. I can't afford top notch health care. Resources are tight & I can't escape the sources of my stress. Would love a spa vacation right now. Cant' even really effectively practice meditation or vegetarianism as food pantries don't always accomodate my fancy lifestyle preferences. I have a college degree but can't work now because I'm sick.

Not only mental health but health in general is a subject that we need to talk about more openly. There are too many conditions that prevent people from being an accepted part of our society. There is too much prejudice against people with chronic (mental) conditions, leading to exclusion from society and poverty. An open dialogue and lots of empathy are needed.

@kensingtonroyal as people working in mental health , I hope you take your own ideas and address the cyber bullying that goes on within your own instagram ! Cyber bullying is a big cause of mental illness and it is done regularly by people here pretending to be your followers ! Real followers are being turned away by these bullies !

As a mental health professional it's so hard to find work, funding for further studies. It's clearly not a priority for donors and for governments. I now know why there are so few practicing. It's an unappreciated field and while we have a passion to help those in need, we have to make a living. So you end up in other lines of work
