cavman86 @weimmom85 let me tell you 2 true stories...4 teenagers were in a car...they thought it would be fun to drive around and just hit cars they pass....during their trip they hit several cars doing lots of damage... the cops didnt get to them in time but they were eventually stopped by a dump truck...what happened was they were going 55+ hit a car which made them bounce off and right into the path of the dump truck....all 4 were killed....the other incident was a guy was dumped by his girlfriend so he was pissed got in his truck and drove off.....he called her to plead his case but she wouldn't take him back so he said she can either take him back or he was going to cause an accident... well he ended up speeding through an intersection hit a car killed the family in that car and escaped with major injuries but was alive....these people chose to do that...if those teens would have hit a car instead of the dump truck they would have killed them also... so I know there is gun violence I'm not saying there isn't but the actions of a few doesn't mean me all have to suffer

We would suffer the penalties of any gun control laws that were put into affect because of the actions of the few who if they didn't have guns would find something else to use like knives....bombs....planes.... rocks....ect...to do the harm the intend to do making the rest of us more vulnerable to said attacks... I for 1 am a firm believer of being able to protect oneself....loved ones and others from those who intend to do harm...I have no problems with law enforcement but they can't always arrive before any harm has been done....so if you take away people's rights for protection.... everyone suffers...and yes assault rifles can work as protection just like any other weapon

dvgamerica Bans on weapons do not address the real issue at hand. Severely underfunded mental health screening, the increased use of specific medications for children along with the rise in social media and further alienation of young people. Restricting cosmetic or any legal firearm and civil liberties will not change this problem. Period! You’re looking in the wrong direction. You’re reasonably intelligent person from the times that we have spoken. Use that intellect now to inform yourself of the real problem.
