This photo is actually a self portrait. It was about a few weeks after the I had taken interest in hiking and adventure photography. It was the middle of January, the temperature was about -20 degrees Celsius, and I couldn’t have been any more excited to adventure. The problem was, I hardly knew anyone else that shared this new interest of mine. So without any question, I packed my camera bag, bundled up, and drove off to the mountains for a solo hike. Being the middle of winter, there was not a person to be found on the trail. I finally reached the top to this stunning view which was seemingly untouched by a single human being (at least for a while). I whipped out my tripod (which I look back on and question why I lugged that heavy thing around hiking) and set up this shot of myself in front of the frozen lake. It’s definitely a moment I must look back on and remind myself the real reasons why I got into adventure photography in the first place.」8月3日 5時01分
