The world lost a legend this week: Sherman Poppen, the inventor of the Snurfer. As @jakeburton77 said: “Not only did he start the sport, but he never gave up on it.” RIP Sherman, and thank you for your contributions to the sport we all love.

tagalvin Wow, haven’t heard “snurfer” in forever!! I remember seeing a TV report it — I remember the board had a rope attached to the nose. Seemed like forever but I FINALLY got one of Burton’s early boards the black/red, with the split tail. I still have it. Good times. RIP SP 🙏 thanks for all the great times I’ve had on a board!
