I'm having an amazing time staying in a small studio at the base of the Acropolis. This city centre that once buzzed with the incredible energy of mankind delving into the first constructs of civilization fascinates me to no end. Conversation & debate is essential for education. Understanding perspectives of others is paramount to peace. The energies of all people is constant & combined, a harmony of sound, feeling & destiny divided or unified. Yesterday my attention was captured by these two men & I felt compelled to record it. When the man on the left shakes a fist, it reminds me of a scene I did as Crixus. What they are saying seems to involve struggle but I don't know. Could be completely wrong. They could simply be lamenting a problem of the day, maybe something more personal or important or maybe they're just joking & talking crap. I just wish I knew what they were saying & hoping to that endeavour if someone reading this knows the language, they could help translate?

They are speaking in Congolese. I believe that the one man who is shaking his fist, is stating that he heard jets buzzing the airport the other day and he attributed it to global tensions likely caused by America. The other man believes that these are nothing more than your standard training missions and confidently assures him not to worry. I could be wrong as I don’t speak a word of Congolese.

Perfectly said. "Conversation and debate are essential for Education". This is why even though teaching means I am broke everyday, someone has to impress upon each generation that understanding cultures leads to peace. We fear what we don't understand .

@manubennett they are speaking Lingala, the national language of the Congo (Democratic Republic) the man on the left sounds like he’s lamenting his colleague’s trust in another person. It’s hard to hear all they’re saying because of the wind

The man on the left says he's tired of the man on the right not practicing and laying out drunk at night. That they don't have a damn band and tired of playing on one patio after another. They need some real gigs.
