Happy birthday, #JerryGarcia! 🎸🐺💥 "Wolf" was Garcia’s main guitar with the #GratefulDead from 1973 until 1979, during a period when he was expanding his "astral" country and blues sound. Named for the cartoon wolf sticker that Iuthier (someone who makes guitars and other stringed instruments) Doug Irwin recreated as an inlay, the instrument’s cutting-edge active electronics gave Garcia a wide variety of tonal options, which he described as "twelve guitars in one."

I saw them in concert in 1978, my boyfriend was a huge fan. I wasn’t familiar with their music. This teen was into Elton John. Jerry left the stage and never came back.
