In 2016, Opie’s “O Portfolio” was shown at LACMA in its entirety for the first time at a Los Angeles Museum. The photographs depict sadomasochistic scenarios derived from her participation in San Fransisco’s bondage community. Now, this film, directed by @sinianderson, traces the journey of the artist, whose work has often been labeled subversive.
