welcomeabundance Agreed. @euphoria does an exquisite job highlighting the highs & lows of addiction...& all the colors in between. It’s beautiful to look at nearly every character on that show & see how addiction is also running their lives. Addiction, can show up in our lives via drugs or alcohol, but it can also show up in the quest for perfection, which is often a longing for approval & belonging. Sometimes, addiction is that “perfect person” or relationship, bc “once they love me... all will be well in my world!” Nonetheless, Because addiction is more about that gapping hole that lies within ...& all the ways we try to fill that emptiness in order to feel whole. I’ve often heard “addiction is a disease of FEELING.” It’s an issue only when things are boring... oh or stressful... or celebratory... or any feeling, really. *Realizing that you have all of those whole pieces within you, which may not always add up to “perfect,” but that’s ok. It’s better than ok. katiebrewsta_ Dear Joey, I read your book and I’ve read it a million times. My story is so similar with my mother, your book helped me through so much ! We are so similar in so many ways, not only with mental health struggles, mothers who deal with addiction, but I also had a learning disability. You and @tyleroakley Have given me strength to come out to friends and family. I’ve looked up to you for so many years thank you for being an amazing role model! Thank you!

latsyrcnevob 🙏🏼As a recovering addict of 13 yrs I can understand your life and you tried to help but when your addicted to alcohol or drugs only the person who is using has that choice to either quit or keep on in the beginning it was hard for me but with the dedication and will power I had I made a better life for me and I’m continually staying happy I will pray for your mom @joeygraceffa with much love ❤️ and appreciation hagd

instaglam_meika Joey that is so deep I really feel for you. I was in a similar situation. My mums old boy friend use to bash our heads into walls, use to bang on our doors until we let him in and then he would hurt us. Our neighbours were calling the police and we were forced to lie to them it was horrible and I still have panic attacks about seeing people just push each other over

emily_ann_redmond21 Man, I never thought that someone would be able to connect to me like Joey, Hes the opposite of me but yet I still Love him and his videos, like at one moment hes funny, loud, and cheerful, and the next moment he can just touch everybodys hearts and make us want to cry😀😏💜
