@pattoyourhamb because they are partners and collaborate together. They breath the same air and drink the same water. There isn't a us v.s. them mentality up there. I'm sure we would be better off down here if we worked on the same principle.

@pattoyourhamb, they still have different rations and NASA does bring supplies up to ISS too. It all depends on relative position of station to a launch site. Sometimes is better to use Baikonur, sometimes US launch sites.
