This is just my opinion as a long time fan, you can clearly see the growth, development and maturity Chance has gone through. With this album he included everything he felt was necessary to further understand what point he is in life and its a project I can most definitely get behind. Everyones calling his deliveries stale and not as tenacious as his previous releases and they arent entirely wrong. But I think everyones overlooking the overall message and theme and thats overcoming the adolescent dilemmas, anxiety, uncertainty that prepare for the fated Big Day where everything just finds a way to work its self out. All his mixtapes are a personal story whether it be abusing drugs in 10 Day and getting suspended to beating his addiction and fully embracing his Maker in Coloring Book. Additionally theres also strong elements of reminiscence that many many black families can get behind. Whether it be the hooks, melodies, and even the skits (with one of them being voiced by the Grand-dad from the Boondocks) it paints a beautiful picture of nostalgic childhoods but also paints hopeful pictures of having a family-oriented household as the one Chance built. If this music is ass to this generation just because it doesnt incorporate simplistic lyrics and catchy instrumentals then I guess my taste is ass too. So thank you Chance for the great album 🙏🏽

@wizardofvibe Igor is certainly aoty material, it shows FAR more diversity and artistic vision than the big day. I love the shit outta chance but this album just ain’t doin it. I understand it’s very centered around the current events of his life but it’s just not very good. Bars are weak, production and mixing are iffy from time to time, it’s just not even close to AOTY material. I’m still hoping whole lotta red is AOTY material though bc die lit was certainly AOTY material

Appreciate the substance in your whole owbum. Frfr you talkin bout shit most rappers are afraid to talk about either cause they tryna keep up their “image” or just are blinded by the negative effects of how America depicts Rappers in general (not saying that their music is trash by any means). Congrats on your growth as a man Father and as a new husband. Owbum of the Year for sure!💯💯. @chancetherapper

Chance please don’t listen to these fools, this album was amazing! They probably just wanted some fast food music that they’ll get over in about a week. This piece of art you dropped was amazing, from the lyrics and production alone you brought me into your world. So again, fuck these trash ass niggas and keep creating king. The big day was amazing.....@ me anytime if you think other wise

Yo what this this I don’t care about you evolving or changing that’s not the problem as a rapper I stand by you cannot post this album and expect real fans to like it as it seems forced and frankly not cared about as the music doesn’t sound like a real album or music for that I am not asking for a remake of the “old you” or songs just some really good music that I used to expect from you

@rap.hiphop_community That is subjective because you used the word “better.” If you said Eminem has a better flow than Kendrick Lamar, that would be subjective because “better” is a subjective word. If you said Eminem has a faster flow than Kendrick Lamar, that could be considered objective because you can count that and measure it. You can’t measure betterness.
