Video screenshot by Bertie Gregory @bertiegregory | A bull moose navigates his antlers through thick willows on the west coast of the Hudson Bay in Manitoba, Canada. The biggest bulls can grow antlers that are up to six feet across, weighing about 40 pounds (18 kilograms). Like other members of the Cervidae (deer) family, moose grow and shed their antlers each year. Having the biggest antlers helps males achieve reproductive success. To see this bull in action, check out my new online series, ‘Wild_Life: The Big Freeze,’ available on National Geographic YouTube and at natgeo.com/wildlife. Content sponsored by @Explore Canada.
