The pink triangle, now considered a symbol of pride, was reclaimed by gay rights activists in the 1970s. This symbol was first used by the Nazis to identify and shame gay and bisexual men and transgender women (while some lesbian and bisexual women and transgender men were given a black triangle). Keith Haring used his art to fight for LGBTQ+ equality right up until his death in 1990.

ificouldsayitinwords @yemisifish I'm a big fan of Haring. His work is direct and purposeful. His mission was always clear and he used a medium that was easily accessible conveying disambiguous symbology. He was perfectly placed in his time and scene. This work I like for it's considered completeness, it says everything it sets out to and nothing more.
