Well dear friend, we had a great run. Seven years and I couldn’t be more honored to have my 200 back World Record broken by @regansmith4, one of the sweetest and hardest working athletes I’ve ever known. Keeping this World Record with an American flag by it means everything, and I was truly blown away watching Regan swim a 2:03.3 (yes, I typed that right) and absolutely smash it. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. People will forget your times, they’ll forget the color of your medals, but they will never, ever forget how you made them feel💕 I truly couldn’t be happier seeing my World Record go to someone who I believe at the bottom of my heart is one of the greatest inspirations and kindest humans in the world. Congratulations my dear @regansmith4💕 Thank you. For sharing your gift with us. You’re beyond a joy to watch.

That was so nice and humble of you to take the time to write such beautiful words from the bottom of your heart. You have Demonstrated once again what a true champion you both inside and outside of the pool. Thank you for being such a great role model. Would love to see you stay in the game. Hopefully nbc will hire you to do some tv commentator work during the olympics . You would be great at that!

Another reason why @missyfranklin88 is a class act. You truly left the sport better then when you arrived, and you still continue to nurture and grow those around you. Congrats to @regansmith4 to an outstanding performance, and I’m so happy that people like you both wear the American flag with pride!
